at some small-town fruit stand with my family. my parents had finished college and were jokingly arguing about where they were going to go be principal and teacher, and who would be which. there was a long line. a sign explained that it was due to a computer "cable head" issue, and had a donation jar for people to put in a dollar to get the PC fixed. i unscrewed the trucks on my skateboard and moved them closer to the center. a bag of sod was taped to the bottom. why
andrea, shanon, and some dude showed up. it was the last place i'd expect to see anyone i knew. in between selling fruit and vegetables, someone was playing songs on a guitar, and everyone was singing along. nobody seemed to be in any hurry to get their food. dude played one of sufjan's christmas songs (come on, let's boogey to the elf dance) and my mom and friends all knew it.
